Funding - It takes a Village

Funding for the fire department comes from three key sources: the Property Owners Association, Loudon County, and generous donations from Tellico Village residents. While donations are voluntary, Villagers have contributed consistently and significantly in recent years, with average donations approaching $150.
This funding supported a 4,500 sq. ft. expansion of the firehouse, along with the upgrading and maintenance of equipment, and recent purchase of a replacement rescue vehicle to be put in service in early 2025. Additionally, funds are set aside in reserve to cover the future replacement of fire vehicles when necessary.
Furthermore, special gifts, along with federal, state, and local grants, have enabled the purchase of critical equipment, including a new Fire/Rescue boat, replacement SCBAs, and other specialized tools that would otherwise be financially out of reach.
A dedicated committee of volunteers coordinates the Department's fundraising efforts and their efforts allow the members to focus on serving the community.
