Our mission is to minimize the loss of life and property resulting from fires, medical emergencies, and environmental or other man-made disasters affecting Tellico Village residents, businesses and visitors.

It is also to promote public safety and foster community support services in a professional manner. We will accomplish this mission through fire suppression, medical services, training and education, fire prevention, investigation and rescue skills, as well as public safety education and other related emergency and non-emergency activities.

We will actively participate in our community, serve as role models and strive to effectively and efficiently utilize all of the resources at our command to provide a service deemed excellent and appropriate to the residents of Tellico Village.

What these core values mean to the Tellico Village Volunteer Fire Department:

  • Prepared for Duty - Our members will do everything possible to ensure that our organization is at an optimal state of readiness when called upon to respond at a moment's notice. Our volunteers will be properly trained, equipped, supported and focused on safe, immediate response and customer service.

  • Serving with Integrity - This relates to how we perform our duties. The enormous commitment necessary to perform the Department’s tasks requires excellence of character. We inspire each other through pride in our organization, which is a belief that every action reflects on all the members of the unit, both past and present. We acknowledge that truth and trust are the foundations of relationship-building and delivery. Our members will work hard every day to maintain the highest professional standards and to earn the public's trust through their actions.

  • Responding with Compassion - Our department is a people-oriented service organization focused on helping those in need. Our members will provide the highest level of fire and emergency services with utmost compassion and care to anyone in need.

  • Committed to Professional Excellence - TVVFD will provide its members with the means, skills, and education to provide outstanding professional services. The Department will also achieve this excellence through a commitment to quality, respect for each person and a workplace that is free of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation.

Our Mission

Who we are

Tellico Village was established in 1986 and is located in Loudon and Monroe Counties, Tennessee. It encompasses nearly 5,000 acres along Tellico Lake with the community continuing to grow because of the number of recreational amenities available and the friendliness of the nearly 6,000 residents.

The Village is located only 12 miles from I-75, exit 81, on the western shore of Tellico Lake. It’s
approximately 35 minutes from downtown Knoxville allowing access to shopping, University of Tennessee activities, excellent medical care, and the Knoxville airport. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Dollywood, Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and other fun destinations are within 50 miles.

Sixteen states, the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic shoreline are within 500 miles of Tellico Village.

The Village amenities include three championship golf courses, a yacht club and restaurant for social activities and dining and recreational facilities that include a fitness center, indoor and outdoor swimming pools and a multitude of courts for a wide range of racquet sports. Over 100+ clubs and many social activities cover a wide range of interests. Tellico Lake provides for water sport activities and the fishing is great!
