The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a recall for certain LS Home (LShome) photoelectric smoke detectors due to a critical safety defect. These devices may fail to sound an alarm during a fire, significantly increasing the risk of injury or death.
The recalled smoke detectors were sold exclusively on Amazon between February 2024 and December 2025, typically in three-packs. Affected units include model number XG-7D04-KZ9Z.
Residents who have purchased LS Home smoke detectors are strongly advised to:
Check their smoke detectors immediately
Stop using any affected LS Home units
Replace them with a reliable, properly certified smoke detector
Contact Amazon or the seller for refund information
Working smoke detectors are one of the most important safety devices in your home. The Tellico Village Volunteer Fire Department recommends testing all smoke detectors at minimum semi-annually and replacing units that are more than 10 years old or are not functioning properly.
